Colin Firth:

Many people identify me with this role (referring to Mr Darcy in Bridget Jones’s Diary) although I also play negative characters, not only nice guys or aristocrats. I had been an actor for a long time before I got these roles and I have played several repulsive characters since then. Yet I think it’s good for an actor if he has the chance to show how versatile he is.

 

Colin Firth:

It’s true I’m not invited to Hollywood to be the hottest star. This is given to only a few people. Let’s see Hugh Grant. For the British he’s a huge star but for the Americans he’s just an exotic foreigner.

 

Colin Firth:

It’s very pleasant to walk in the city (Budapest) looking at the beautiful buildings here. The other day, for example, we admired Matthias Church. What’s more, Hungarian cuisine is excellent, which is really refreshing after spending two months in Tunisia and then in Slovakia.

 

Colin Firth:

This film was not targeted to either children or religious conservatives. At the same time it’s important to bear in mind that a film in the USA becomes stigmatized with a rating like that of Where the Truth Lies. Cinemas are not keen on showing a film that can produce aversion in a part of the audience. And on this account  DVD rentals won’t recommend it, either. We didn’t have to face such
